Severe Stricture After Prostate Radiation
Mr. H.S. was treated with radiation for prostate cancer, and developed a severe recurrent stricture. He required numerous visits to the emergency room for an inability to urinate. He was repeatedly dilated, but these dilation only offered temporary relief. Ultimately, he required a suprapubic tube (a drainage tube placed directly in the bladder). He was seen by several doctors and was ultimately referred to Dr. Gelman by a UCLA Urologist. Mr. S. underwent a successful open urethroplasty 8 years ago, and has not required treatment subsequently.
