10 Month Old Baby has Disrupted Urethra Repaired (Pediatric Urethral Injury)

Caiden underwent surgery for a disease called Hirschsprung’s Disease at a Texas Hospital. After surgery, a catheter was inflated in his urethra and he developed a tear of this urethra and rectum. He required a tube in his bladder and a colostomy for the majority of the first year of his life. Caiden travelled to California with the support of the Texas hospital, so that he could receive treatment at the Center for Reconstructive Urology. He underwent a successful urethroplasty and now urinates normally. Caiden’s mother and grandmother detail their experience.
